No. The cover only magnetically attaches to the back case. It does not attach directly to a caseless iPad.

This is a good, solid case supporting my 2022 12.9” iPad. Little in the pricey -side.Though it’s heavier than expected, it’s solid and the iPad doesn’t slip or move (it magnetically attaches). The stand is robust, which I appreciate.

If auto-off is not important to you, this is a fabulous case. I absolutely loved it… until I realized my battery was draining because my ipad wasn’t turning off when I closed the case. The description doesn’t say it’s auto-off, so my bad. But it seems like such a basic feature these days that I just assumed. Sadly, that’s a deal-breaker for me, so I returned it.

Looked at many cases and reviews, and decided on this for the value and features. Just got it for my 5th Generation iPad Pro 12.9 M1 and it is perfect. Love that it has a case for the iPad to protect it, that magnetically attaches to the stand part for various views and uses. As the pictures and description show, it works exactly like that. Buttons fit fine and took me 3 seconds to "install" the case part, no issues. Love the form/function and yes adds some weight, but this is fine for me.Solid product and 5 stars for me!

Got the iPad Pro 12.9" 2022 open box from other local vendor and searched for a good case for it. ESR was a new name to me but I was attracted by the features it delivers. Yes, I was impressed by the build quality and the features promised. BUT it is very heavy combined with the 680g iPad Pro! I went back to check the spec and was surprised to learn it is even heavier than the iPad Pro. Because of the magnets and metal inside the case, it seems that is not possible to reduce the weight. At the same time, my iPad Pro with the inner case won’t be able to stay with ESR Rebound keyboard I acquired later. You have to take off the inner case whenever you want to use the keyboard. Oh, man. Really hate to return the case but it is hard to find a perfect combination so far …
