I was looking to purchase the Apple Folio, but after spending the money on the iPad Mini, I wasn’t wanting to spend another $50+ dollars. Plus, knowing how easily I lose things, I wanted something to keep my Apple Pencil secure (in additional to magnetic attachment), which the Folio does not tooSomeone had recommended this on a YouTube video, and it seemed like exactly what I needed.I purchased immediately because of the great price and seemingly great design. I’m so happy I did.I’ve only had this case for a few days, but I really love it. Not only does it looks great on the iPad, but the functionality is an improvement over the Folio with the closure that keeps the Apple Pencil more secure. It feels nice – maybe quite as nice as the Folio – but pretty dang close. It attaches very securely and I don’t worry about my iPad falling out.Lastly, I cannot yet speak to the durability of this product since I’ve had it short time, but it feels like something that will last at least 1 or 2 years. For the price, that’s not something I can complain about. I’ll update my review later to speak to this.I totally recommending purchasing this cover over the Folio from Apple. If you’re an Apple snob… well, we already know what you’re going to do.

Great case. Looks and feels like the Apple Smart Cover. The only difference is it has a flap, but I cut mine off with an exacto-blade and ruler. Now it’s just the same as Apple, for 1/3 the price. Buy one!

"ESR Magnetic Compatible with iPad Mini. 6 Case (8.3 Inch, 2021)"Pro: Folio does what it should in landscape orientation, good price, works with magnetic iPad cradles, screen cover locks out of the way for one-hand use, handy smart pencil retainer is there if you need it and still useful if you don’tCon: Does not work as a stand in portrait orientation, the folio adds a bit of bulk to the iPad mini, magnets on the ‘back’ are not stronger than the magnets on the screen cover.I’ve been using the ESR magnetic folio on my iPad mini 6 since I received it and I have been mostly happy with it. The magnets on the cover seem strong enough to hold the cover as one needs – both in the ‘closed’ mode and out of the way for one-hand use. It also stands the iPad at a proper angle for typing or movie viewing. There is a clever ‘flap’ for the pencil, if you have one, or to hold the screen cover closed when you slip everything into your everyday carry.I also have found this folio ‘essential’ when mounting my iPad onto my magnetic cradle. It is attracted to the cradle and locks on properly but, most important, it greatly improves the ability to easily remove the iPad since it gives one something to tug on. So all of that is as it should be.My niggles: The iPad mini really likes to be used in portrait orientation, especially in a video chat; this folio does not act as a stand in portrait orientation. That means I needed a second cover (an "origami" cover) for traveling, making the folio my ‘at home’ protection. I also love the way the mini feels when holding with one hand – and this folio makes it feel thicker and heavier. It tips the scale a bit in a slightly less perfect direction. This last item is more than a niggle: magnets on the ‘back’ are not stronger than the magnets on the screen cover. I have had the iPad slip out of the folio when opening once because the it became a tug-of-war ‘which magnetic surface will hold the iPad longest’ situation – resulting in my first ding on the iPad. :/Summary: I do not regret buying this folio but I do not know if I would buy it again because I feel the iPad mini is best in portrait orientation. It would be a slam-dunk if it were an ‘origami’ style that allowed use as a portrait stand. I would recommend it to someone who has a magnetic cradle where the iPad is difficult to remove..

I bought this for my iPad mini 6 in the purple color. Great quality and a fraction of the cost of the Apple brand. It looks and feels like the apple brand, BUT This one has a flap to hold the Apple Pencil in place which is great for when you are carrying it in a purse or bag – the apple brand does not have that awesome feature. I love it so much I am ordering one for my iPad Pro 12.9′

Covers Apple pencil tightly; looks professional; easy to write on when slightly elevated

I’ve purchased ESR cases for about almost every iPad I’ve purchased (I buy a new one every second new generation). This magnetic folio case is about as great as every other folio case I’ve purchased, whether from ESR or Apple. I found that this folio case is just slightly thinner than the original Apple cases, which makes it feel less premium. However, if you care about device thickness, this drawback should be a good trade-off.Additionally, there is no branding on the exterior of the case, which gives it a very minimalist look. I find that some brands on ESR have really bad-sounding names so when they plaster their branding everywhere, it makes the product seem cheap.Overall, I recommend this case. You can’t go wrong with ESR, their after-sales service is world-class.

It is pretty similar to the apple case and it is significantly cheaper, great buy imo.

It’s a really good quality case specially for the price. This one is a good comparison to apple’s case. The magnet holds my iPad very well and would recommend to anyone. One thing though, if your the kind of person that a tendency to drop your devices I probably would not buy this. Instead I would get a case that attaches to your IPad like a phone case. I don’t think it would protect from impact like dropping it. 10 out of 10 a very nice quality case.

The case is great for the price and I am very happy with it.The fit could have been a little bit tighter but it IS still great for the price. The magnet that holds the lid is, as other reviewed, very strong making the case hard to open sometimes. It is not a big issue, but i feel like it might cause a vulnerability that could lead to a precipitate wear and tear in the long run. If the case had to be redesigned, I would add a groove to allow for an easier opening.
