Some observations on this item:1. Pairing with the iPad was easy, as expected. This is done via a Bluetooth connection.2. The keyboard cover is actually fairly substantial and heavy. So it will definitely add weight to your backpack. That said, the weight is important in giving excellent stability when using. Very sturdy feel, and the angle for holding the screen above the keyboard is perfect.3. The keys on the keyboard are very solid. Fairly quiet but with a rugged feel. Great size to enable error free typing.4. The trackpad is excellent. Makes selecting and browsing through apps on your iPad a breeze, as well as quickly scrolling through content.5. The shortcut keys seem to work as advertised, with one exception (see below). Quick access to brightness, volume, etc. I particularly like the shortcut that provides an easy view of all open apps, allowing you to select among them or to force shut any down.6. Hitting the function (or the lower leftmost key with the globe icon) brings up very useful contextual menus, allowing various selections.7. There is a fitted case for the iPad itself that is held in place magnetically to the keyboard case. This fitted case is lightweight and provides easy access to all iPad buttons. This is ideal, as you can hold just this when reading or doing other activities. In this regard, the weight of the keyboard case is not an issue since you can easily just remove and use the iPad with the light fitted case.8. The only thing that doesn’t seem to work as advertised is the backlight and color selection (at least on my unit). These are supposedly the function + 5 or 6 key but it doesn’t seem to do anything. Although when the unit powers on, the backlight is lit and it cycles through the colors, I can’t seem to change settings. That said, this is a feature of little use to me but still an apparent flaw (either in the unit I received or in the instructions). Therefore, I haven’t really bothered to troubleshoot. EDIT: I just spent a little time with it and the instructions are wrong. There are 2 keys at the top of the keyboard that adjust these settings. The one that looks like a half sun (above & midway between the 6 & 7) changes brightness and turns off the backlight. The half sun with arrows (above and midway between the 7 & 8) changes color. You just have to hit the key; no need for combo with the function key.Overall, a great keyboard case and iPad case – sturdy, ergonomic and generally works as advertised. Recommended.

Very nice! Affordable and has more use than the apple version because of the function rows.

The ability to hold the iPad in both horizontal and vertical positions while still having use of the keyboard is fantastic! It’s study and holds in place very well, and being able to easily use it without the keyboard- but still in a case- is really handy. Hard to find anything to complain about here. I’ve had a number of ESR products over the past few years now and they’ve all been excellent, this is no exception to that.

my s24 has a couple of tiny screen protector bubbles i ignore, my ipad 10.5 also the same.these were as cheap as possible options.Spending extra on an applicator is 100% a great idea… there are no bubbles in my ipad air 13inch…im blaming this applicatorhonestly i suck at this stuff.. so you get mt 5 starsAs for protector… its a little shiney not matt at all like my other ipad… at the time of ipad release, there were only 2 options.Its apparently brighter yeah like im not complaining.. tghe pen seems to grip a bit… its new to me, shiny paper like

It’s a good matte screenguard. Great for illustrators/designers or people who require some friction with the pencil and to somewhat mimic the feeling of paper.The downside is that the colours get a bit washed out. but that is bound to happen with any matte screen guard.installation was easy, with all the extra fitting devices provided. having 2guards in one pack is also great.

Absolute great keyboard for my ipad air which cost only a fraction of apple. The keyboard is soft and well made . Bluetooth connectivity is solid. Absolutely love this . Big fan of all ESR products

I just got the new iPad Air 13 inch and needed something to protect it, but also wanted a keyboard/trackpad to use it with from time to time while not spending an extra $350+ on they Apple version. This literally checked all the boxes for me so I went with it. I guess I wasn’t expecting the quality? It just kind of took me by surprise. The keys feel really nice to type on, the trackpad is super smooth, the backlit keyboard is bright AND has different colors AND has a dedicated function row at the top?! I guess I didn’t look too much into the specs before ordering. The magnetic hold is strong too, so I know it’s not going anywhere. What I love most though, is when I don’t want to use the keyboard and just go portable, I know it’s still protected because of the included detachable case to put your iPad in. Another little benefit that I personally love, but some of you might not care, is when it connects via Bluetooth, if you have the battery widget on your Home Screen it will show you the battery status. (You can see this in the included photo.) I honestly find it difficult to believe you will find a better deal with this quality elsewhere, and will 100% be looking into ESR products in the future.
