Mount it to the most convenient vent, you can use the third peg to lock in three places if your vent is still sliding around. This was useful in our car but was a pain to get right in the first place. Otherwise, the stand holds a MagSafe compatible iPhone with no issues whatsoever, although if you use a case which doesn’t also have magnets in it, you’ll need to remove it before mounting your phone. The mount has held two case-less iPhone 13s for multi-hour journeys, just using a USB cable for charge and music playback, rather than spending extra for the model with a wireless charger, and the benefit here is that music (or CarPlay) will work no-hassle through the cable instead of a wireless connection that you’d have to use with the other model.
