The good display quality was a bonus. Initially the device did not work with HDMI and a normal USB power adaptor of 10W; also not when using power USB ports of a desktop PC or NAS. The screen flashed a split second the computer content but then went black again for 15-20 seconds, just to repeat this cycle endlessly. But when using a power block with USB power ports, the setup worked. When reporting the problem to ESR support (Amy), together with my suggestion to include a suitable USB power adaptor in the box, they immediately responded (on a Sunday!), were very understanding and helpful and offered a very nice discount for the procurement of a separate (65W) power adaptor. Quite impressed with this kind of support as this is not found easily anymore these days. Overall I have now a very nice portable display and a solution for the original problem.
