A new iPhone release is a legitimate expectation once Fall approaches every year. In 2022, Apple will likely step up the features of its expected iPhone 14, because of competition from Google\u2019s Pixel 7 and Samsung\u2019s S22 Ultra<\/u><\/a>. We already have rumors about the possible design, release date, price, and other features. So, let\u2019s explore all that is currently available about this upcoming flagship.<\/p>\n

iPhone 14 Pro Rumored Design<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Among the changes accompanying the 2022 iPhone is the ditching of the display notch in its predecessors. While the standard iPhone 14 may still have the notch, the Pro Max version will have two small cutouts – one that resembles a pill for Face ID, while the punch-hole will accommodate the front camera. This leak has been confirmed by Ross Young, a display analyst, while one Chinese social website called Weibo puts the punch hole size at 5.631mm.<\/p>\n

From afar, the iPhone 14 Pro Max does not look much different in design from its predecessor. However, because of the slightly-elevated bump around the camera, iPhone 13 Pro cases<\/u><\/a>\u00a0will not fit their 14 counterparts. For the same reasons, the edges of this upcoming iPhone are likely to be rounder than its 13 Max counterparts. According to leaks, these rounder edges accommodate the protruded camera arrays.<\/p>\n

As for the size, rumors have it that iPhone 14 Pro will be 6.1-inches on display, while iPhone 14 Pro Max will be 6.7 inches. There won\u2019t be iPhone 14 mini because of the low patronage the iPhone 13 mini suffered. One supply chain image showing all the family members of the iPhone 14 affirmed this display size by showing that both iPhone 14 Pro and the standard iPhone will have the same size.<\/p>\n

Based on available details, we envisage an iPhone 14 pro that will be 147.46mm tall and 71.45mm wide. The thickness we expect based on rumors is about 7.85mm, and as the schematic diagram below shows, it\u2019s akin to the iPhone 13 Pro.<\/p>\n

Another unverified leak from a Chinese Apple follower says that iPhone 14 Pro may also come in silver, graphite, and gold colors in addition to the widely rumored dark purple. Whatever ends up being the case will reveal a few months from now.<\/p>\n

Ross Young, a display analyst, hinted at the iPhone 14 Pro Max featuring the 120Hz ProMotion Display tech. Lower-end iPhone 14 will not have this feature based on leaks, but the more expensive iPhone 14 Pro Max and the Pro version will showcase this technology.<\/p>\n

Similarly, iPhone 14 Pro will feature the Always-On display, allowing users to see essential details on their Lock Screen Widgets. Because of the iOS 16 that the smartphone will be operating on, things like calendar events, weather, reminders, and fitness will be visible at all times, even when the phone is \u201csleeping.\u201d<\/p>\n

Macrumors predicts that iPhone 14 Pro Max\u2019s Always-On will be similar to that on the Apple Watch. Users can see the day, month, time, and unread notifications. The OS will darken the wallpaper<\/u>\u00a0or background theme when not active to conserve the battery.<\/p>\n

The USB-C Port Rumors<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Many sources claim that soon; the iPhone 14 Pro Max may debut the USB-C port<\/u><\/a>. If that comes true, it would be a replacement of the Lightning cord and perhaps an improvement to the charging speed. Nearly all Apple gadgets now have a USB-C port, making data transfer easier.<\/p>\n

Ming-Chi Kuo, a Chinese analyst, believes that while Apple will indeed transit to USB-C, it may not happen until late 2023. Granted, Europe seems to be moving towards adopting this connectivity as the standard for phones, but Kuo hinted that Apple is not in a rush to make it happen.<\/p>\n

The major leak is that this large-screen device will probably showcase a 48MP primary camera with an improved lens to capture more views. Bloomberg\u2019s Mark Gurman, Kuo, and other Apple pundits attested to this, making it a huge possibility.<\/p>\n

Apart from the rear camera, Apple is also planning a massive upgrade to the frontal ones. According to Kuo, we can expect an iPhone 14 Pro Max with a better aperture and focus on delivering better portrait mode during FaceTime and when taking photos. The rear camera will also be triple-lens like the iPhone 13 Pro Max, although its size and diameter may be more significant.<\/p>\n

Price & Release Date<\/strong><\/h2>\n

iPhone 14 Pro Max will be more expensive for every pointer than its predecessor. While analysts are stipulating an extra $100 price jump, it may be cheap even at that rate. That\u2019s because if the 48MP rear camera and 2TB storage rumors are actual, this may prompt Apple to raise its price higher than $100. But if Apple hopes to succeed in selling this product, Jeff Pu believes it has to soften its pedal on the price.<\/p>\n

Barring any unforeseen setback, September 13 is the unified date by many analysts for Apple to announce its latest iPhone. And going by previous release patterns, the device will become available about two weeks after its release date.<\/p>\n

Battery Capacity<\/strong><\/h2>\n

With the expectation of a more robust and efficient A16 Bionic chipset, we expect an additional improvement in the battery department of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Many enthusiasts expect at least 5000mAh or more that can last for over 12 hours of continuous use.<\/p>\n
