In a world where we all can’t get over our devices, where cravings to upgrade our previous devices are also on the rise, there is every possibility that new devices will be produced at a faster pace than before.
So, manufacturing companies have got lots of tasks at hand. On the other hand, tech-savvies like me would always have something to write about. That way, it’s a win-win for both parties.
In the same vein, you would always have something to feed your gadget-hunger self by devouring every tech article put out for you to read about.
That being said, we all are aware of the two most prominent brands ruling the tech space and just in case you aren’t aware here is a quick lesson on that – Apple and Samsung top the most sought-after gadget list.
Remember when the iPhone 11 was released and the gigantic sales that followed? Up until now, the sales turn-up is still massive – you couldn’t have imagined how that came about.
And the same thing is seen in the Samsung s10. You as a buyer may be confused as to which device to purchase.
Although both are classy and highly sought after you need to go for one which you serve the purpose for which you are purchasing any device.
In this light, you may have been contemplating on how to get over this vagueness by surfing the net for answers but that may further compound your purchase preference as too many options are quite bad.
In a bid to ease your confusion, I have made things simple by juxtaposing the key features of both devices in this article.
Even simpler, this article has been well structured and dispersed under various key features for easy reading, skimming or scanning.
DISPLAY
In terms of display, the screen of the Galaxy S10 has 6.1-inch and this is a bit bigger than that of the iPhone 11 screen. Remember the pro version of iPhone 11 has just 5.8-inch, which is the largest screen display of the series.
For its resolution, the galaxy s10 has a resolution of 3040 * 1440 and a 550 pixel per inch accompanies it. On the other hand, the iPhone 11 came with a 2436 * 1125 resolution along with a 458 PPi.
CAMERA
For its camera, the Samsung s10 showcases 3 camera lenses at its rearview. The same applies to the iPhone 11 pro. In the case of the Samsung, a basic function of one of these rear cameras is to grant the phone access to take ultra-wide images with a much greater field view than anticipated.
However, a spiking difference that distinguishes the ultra-wide camera of the Samsung s10 from that of the iPhone 11 is such that the latter has just 120 degrees field of view angle which makes it quite restricted while the Samsung s10 can accommodate an ultra-wide angle of about 123 degrees.
With a megapixel of 16, the aperture of s10’s ultra-wide-angle is lower compared to that of the iPhone 11 which has just a megapixel of 12. Thus, there is a wider opening to accommodate lighter and give greater exposure.
The telephoto of both devices follows after their megapixels – 16 and 12 respectively. However, the difference lies in the aperture.
We see a wide-angle lens of f/1.8 in the iPhone 11 while that of s10 can shift from aperture f/1.5 to f/2.4 which is less than the iPhone 11.
Likewise, the telephoto lens of the iPhone 11 comes with an aperture of f/2.0 which is lower than that of the Samsung s10, f/2.4
In terms of video recording, the duo can record 4K videos up to about 60 frames in a second. Also, the latest one which is a slow-motion video can be taken in 1080p up to 240 frames per second.
DESIGN
When it comes to their designs, both devices take entirely new turns in their approach. The iPhone 11 features a cut-out at its notch to display the facial-recognition sensors and selfie camera.
The design has been a great deal for Samsung and they always aim for sophistication and aesthetically befitting ones.
So, the S10 features a new display and it appears like there is an opening in the screen where the front (selfie) camera is located and this creates a chimera that the display extends from one edge to the other.
Also, the designs at the back are worth commenting on as both are relatively different. The iPhone 11, it features a new matte framework which makes it easier to hold in your grip and it reduces fingerprint smears.
While the s10 features a shiny and glossier back which appears a whole lot fragile.
To preserve their designs, and keep your device looking new, here’s my recommendation for protective cases to use. Check for the ESR cases here.
WEIGHT
In terms of weight, the iPhone 11 is weightier than the s10, having 188 grams while the s10 weighs about 157 grams.
ENDURANCE TEST
The iPhone 11 is more durable and can stay in water for up to about 30 minutes. it is better arrayed than the s10 which can only withstand water of 1.5m depth for just 30 minutes.
STORAGE
The iPhone has 3 storage spaces available to it, 64GB, 256GB and 512GB, depending on the model you choose to purchase. In the s10, there are only 2 storage spaces available, 128GB and 512GB.
The icing on the cake is this: the s10 gives double the storage space when you purchase the cheapest model in the iPhone 11 series.
Furthermore, the s10 allows for an external, storage slot in form of microSD which is removable and can expand up to about 512GB.
PRICE
Here is where we all channel our concentration. The price of the iPhone 11 is dependent on the storage space you choose to purchase and it is a bit pricey compared to the Samsung S10.
On the whole, the best decision is to go for one that fully satisfies your gadget needs. In all, be sure it’s the right and best decision for you.
