The next Apple event draws nearer every day, and as a result, iPhone 13 rumors have started to get stronger as people are impatient to find out what the new smartphone will be like.
The iPhone 13 (or whatever name it would be given) wasn’t discussed at the WWDC 2021, but we got to see a preview of the iOS15 developer beta. This new OS helps to create some insight into the expected features of this new device. The iOS 15 is available for download at the moment but it’s not recommended as the operating system is still under development.
Asides from the software that will be used with the phone, there have also been unauthenticated reports about iPhone 13’s color options. First, it was described as the pink iPhone which quickly spread around enthusiasts, users and non-users. Now, according to EverythingApplePro on their Youtube channel based on information gotten from leaker Max Weinbach, the latest titular iPhone release will feature a sleek, matte black color.
There have been numerous about the next smartphone release from Apple. We have gathered all these rumors including other vital information such as speculation on the release date of the iPhone 13. We’ll also see how the latest iPhone would compare against the features of the iPhone 12.
Let’s begin!
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the latest iPhone release should feature four (4) models, namely; iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max – similar to the models for the iPhone 12. There are still a few more months before this new device is released. More updates will be announced as the expected release date draws nearer.
iPhone 13 Projected Design
There have been several render images of the iPhone 13 which have been circulating on Twitter. Many enthusiasts believe the design of Apple’s next release will be familiar with little or no major changes. The latest render released by MacRumors clearly shows a resized camera bump and thicker frames for iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro when compared with similar models of its predecessor. They went further to explain that the resized camera bump is to accommodate any possible camera upgrades. Owing to technological advancements, it’s okay to expect new photo tricks and tech.
Earlier in May, the entire Twitter space began to buzz when an account named Peng Phones released an image of a pink iPhone 13. Even though this image was just a simple rendering model from a 3D model artist, it appealed to a large population. There’s no saying that Apple won’t exploit this marketing strategy.
iPhone 13 Rumored Sizes
It seems like the iPhone 13 would come with similar dimensions to its predecessor’s models:
- iPhone 13 Mini: 5.4”
- iPhone 13: 6.1”
- iPhone 13 Pro: 6.1”
- iPhone 13 Pro Max: 6.7”
Projected Release Date for the iPhone 13
As of now, there has been no official announcement on the release of the next Apple iPhone. An April report suggests that Apple had begun manufacturing the new chips which means that the release of the iPhone 13 was drawing nearer. Based on how Apple has handled previous events, we can extrapolate a release for this highly anticipated smartphone.
Last year was a different story for Apple and the entire world. Apple’s event in September 2020 was its first event in over eight years that wouldn’t feature an iPhone. This was due to production delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic. This year, it seems like everything is back to business for the tech giant. This means that we can expect the release of the iPhone 13 during this year’s September event.
Based on previous events, it’s clear that:
- Apple prefers to hold these events on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
- iPhone release dates are usually set for a week and a half after official announcements have been made about the device.
- New iPhones are released on a Friday, usually during the third week, in September.
Looking at this year’s calendar, we can extrapolate that the September Apple Event should come up on Sept. 8, with a possible release date of Sept 17 for iPhone 13.
iPhone 13 Projected Price
Another crucial aspect of the release of any iPhone is its pricing. The iPhone 12 was made into 4 different models and offered at different prices for each. When released, the iPhone 12 cost $799 – a price increase largely due to the addition of 5G support to the smartphone. It doesn’t seem like there will be any significant technological changes for the iPhone 13, therefore, it’s expected to have a similar price structure as its predecessor.
Let’s refresh on the pricing structure of the iPhone 12 to give us an idea of what to expect from Apple’s next titular smartphone release.

Battery Capacity for iPhone 13
A rumor on Weibo released information that suggests that the iPhone 13 models will be designed with larger batteries than their predecessor. According to the specs shared on Twitter by leaker @L0vetodream, the iPhone 13 mini will have a 2,406mAh battery, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro will feature a 3,095mAh battery while the iPhone 13 Pro Max takes things up a notch and features a 4,325mAh battery.
These battery sizes are considerably larger than those adopted in the iPhone 12 models. However, battery life is not the same as battery capacity. This means that it’s possible that the increase in the batteries used for the iPhone 13 does not mean the phones will have longer battery life. The battery life of the phone is dependent on its other features, upgrades and how well the software optimizes available battery life. When compared with other top smartphone manufacturers, Apple batteries come up short. For instance, Samsung’s Galaxy s21 lineup features batteries ranging between 4,000mAh – 5,0000mAh.
As we near September, it’s expected that Apple will release more updates and information on iPhone 13. The whole world awaits impatiently to see what Apple churns out next.
