The hype these days about the iPhone12 is just crazy and at an all-time high as we get closer and closer to the launch every day. Although, we aren’t too sure yet about what to expect, we do have some rumors which give us a nice clean idea of what the newest, Apple smartphone, is going to look like. And this just makes the wait, all the more exciting. We’re personally, hyperventilating from the excitement!
From 5G to OLED Screens, the phone is just promising too much for the average Apple user to pass up. Anyone in their right mind (and a heavy wallet) would just jump at the opportunity to grab that phone. But then again, the phone is a couple of months away to say the least. And we have to be honest, it’s a difficult task in itself to wait for buying a new phone for even a week, let alone a few months. When you need that phone, you just need it. The excitement makes it too difficult to wait.
So in this article, we’re going to compare, based off of the rumors currently flying around, whether you should wait for buying the new iPhone 12 or just settle for buying an iPhone 11. We’re hopeful that this article will help you come to a concrete decision of buying you, your new phone. It’s time for us to compare the two models and their pros and cons.
5G
Let’s start with one of the most certain features this phone is going to be deployed with. Even though we haven’t received any official confirmation about it, it’s safe to say that the new iPhone 12 will most probably be equipped with one of the most wanted features in the market; 5G! Even though 5G isn’t as widespread as 4G at the moment, the forecast is that in the next year or two, 5G will be providing a lot more coverage and is going to become a routine thing. At the moment, the coverage isn’t as extensive for 5G technology and you can’t get a 5G signal in most places. And even if you do, it’s not all that amazing as it’s hyped up to be. There isn’t even too much of a difference between 4G LTE and 5G. So you can settle for the iPhone 11 too right? But here’s the catch; in the next year or two, 5G will be a lot more widespread. And when that happens, 5G will be here to stay further for the next few years where 4G will become obsolete. So, if you were to get the iPhone 12, you’ll still be able to make use of it for a few years as opposed to an iPhone 11 which will limit your internet wants in the years to come. Also, think of the re-sale value of both the phones too in the next one or two years.
OLED Screens
Everyone likes aesthetics. If a phone or anything else for that matter doesn’t catch your eye on the first look, chances are you won’t look at it a second time. The same thing could apply for when the screen on your phone lights up. It’s not difficult to admit that better colors on your screen won’t catch your attention or that of the person standing next to you. Another thing we’re highly anticipating is the fact that the traditional LCD screens are about to be replaced with new, OLED screens. That means deeper black, more vibrant colors and smoother scrolling. The high end models of the iPhone 12 will most probably be equipped with ProMotion technology. That means better video results and streaming experiences. Not to mention, better gaming experiences too. With the boom in the mobile gaming market as well, the offer of an OLED screen just becomes a lot more appealing.
A14 Chip
2 other hot topics and emerging markets in the technology world are Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR). AI and AR are forecasted to be a major part of our everyday lives in the coming years. You know what else makes this more appealing? The iPhone 12 is expected to come equipped with an A14 chip, only for the core reason that it’ll enhance AI and AR related tasks. An A14 chip means faster processing and it also means that it’ll take your phone lesser time to map the environment around you. That means a much refined AR experience since you won’t have to hover your phone around to map the environment. This experience will double with the LiDAR scanner which will enable you to launch into AR apps almost instantly. The iPhone 11 is equipped with an A13 chip. That means in the coming years, the support for the A13 chip will stop too, making the phone obsolete.
A Better Camera
Yes, the new iPhone 12 series will come equipped with better cameras. Do you know why we’re hopeful? Because Apple has a history of constantly upgrading its products. Every phone that comes into the market is better than the previous one. The higher end models of the new iPhone are expected to be equipped with an improved Telephoto lens which allow you an optical zoom of 3x as opposed to 2x in the iPhone 11. Sounds appealing, doesn’t it? To top it off, Apple most probably intends to improve it’s Smart HDR to you can get better performance from the camera in places with lower light.
A Better Design
It’s rumored that the new iPhone 12 will come equipped with a stainless steel frame with flat glass on the front and back. The steel frame will be flat as they were with the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5. I think it’s safe to say that we all loved that design. Also, the iPhone 12 is expected to be a lot more compact with the 5.4-inch screen which will allow you to use the phone with one hand. Whereas the highest end model of the iPhone 12 is expected to have a 6.7-inch display, making it the biggest iPhone up to date. That’s a lot of variation in phones of the same series. Also, don’t forget the new color that’s about to be introduced; Navy Blue. You have to admit; a navy blue color would look good on an iPhone. With the iPhone 11, you’ll be getting the older design and A midnight green color, which is pretty good looking in itself too. But a Navy blue one does sound better.
The Wait
Yes it’s true that you’ll have to wait for the iPhone 12 till it’s launched in the market. Potentially we’re looking at 2-3 months for the launch. However, a report says that due to the pandemic, the production is facing some problems which could cause a slight delay. But we haven’t received any official confirmation on this at the same time. So, is it really worth waiting for the new iPhone 12? Well according to us, definitely! With those features and considering the longevity along with comparing the two models, the iPhone 12 for sure, sounds like the better investment!
